Phoenix Opera's 2016 Southwest Vocal Competition first place female vocalist,Vanessa Vasquez, signs contract with Columbia Artists Management and is on her way to opera greatness.

Phoenix Opera is proud to announce the names of the six distinguished judges to officiate the premiere Southwest Vocal Competition. “Where else can an Arizona singer perform for a New York agent, General Director of a prestigious American Opera Company, and Head of an International Voice Program in Germany ... all in one evening? By becoming a finalist in the Southwest Vocal Competition ... that is the extraordinary level of our judging for this competition,” said John Massaro, Executive Director of Phoenix Opera Company.
